Con-Dem Coalition to scrap Fund that has supported 84 jobs in Angus 4 August 2010 Marlyn Glen , the North East Scotland MSP revealed today that the Future Jobs
Fund which is being scrapped by the Conservative-Liberal Coalition Government
had been supporting 84 jobs in Angus, through Angus Council. Ms. Glen condemned the decision to scrap the scheme, describing it as, " the millionaire Coalition ending a job scheme regarded by the TUC as ‘ the most progressive employment programme for thirty years ‘. She said, "What young adults want is a job and not just work experience. "They are the most vulnerable casualties of tough economic times. "The TUC saw the Future Jobs Fund as a model programme to place them in quality jobs in the public, private and voluntary sectors. "Now the Coalition Government will scrap this proven success at a time when the local economy needs strong support for jobs."
